This enabled Him to proclaim with a triumphant voice on the cross of Calvary, “It is finished.” Christ’s heel was to be bruised by Satan. The whole energies of apostasy gathered together in an effort to destroy Him who was the light of the world, the truth which makes men wise unto salvation. But no advantage was gained by this confederacy. They knew not what they were doing. Satan bruised Christ’s heel, but Christ bruised Satan’s head. He was indeed enduring the contradiction of sinners against
